Weddings

What a journey I had with this couple… We started our first shoot in New Zealand then to Paris and its rounded off with a beautiful wedding in Bali. The day started off quite intensely with lots of sun and splashing around. The setting is just perfect; the sea, the breeze, the sun and the sound of waves crashing beneath the cliffs. The wedding planner behind all these is none other than Jonathan of Wedding Acts.

This is a first for me, bridesmaids throwing away their bouquets but what a way to do it!

This is a funny one. Noticed this guy ‘inspecting’ the wedding cake. (its a real cake btw)

The breeze blew the ashes and soot inland, its funny to see everyone shielding themselves and covering the glasses..

The party continued to the pools and with alcohol flowing freely for the night, you’d expect some really cool pictures. Here’s what I can show you only. This is a wedding I’ll never forget.

JL and Sherine tied the knot in his hometown, Bourg-les-Valence, about 1 hour south of Lyon. The weather was great, so were the food, wine and company : )

The civil wedding ceremony took place at the local town hall, BYO-deco style.

Love the oriental touch of the wedding favours which were all hand-made and brought over by Sherine’s sister-in-law. Wo.. Heard from JL that their lunch reception is at a 3-Michelin-star restaurant. Cool!! Even more exciting when I was invited to their kitchen to catch them in action. We’d like to thank JL & Sherine for giving us this opportunity to savour the exquisite cuisine and fine service.

The day continues back home with more food and lots of local wine. JL’s dad was very good at “pushing” his Clairettes, ensuring glasses were always full.

The meeting of minds and deep roots in their belief maketh a great pairing. Matthew a.k.a “Magic Man” and Angeline tied the knot on 18 April 2009. It was a very enjoyable wedding with great (some crazy) friends, good food and fantastic speeches. Guess the only time of the day when it got serious was during the signing of the marriage certificate.

Just to share some images from this special wedding of Greg and June. For once, the wedding begins in the afternoon :) and its also a gathering of good friends. Local delicacies like laksa and bah kut teh were served at the banquet and the service was tip-top.

It was such a pleasure to have been a part of Damon and Linda’s wedding. We met at a wedding 3 years ago and its a real honour to be engaged for theirs now.

The boys are preparing for the leap away from sight from the girls. Sneaky..

There were 11 boys in line, so long that some had to do their push-ups by the rubbish dump. Eew..

To dig through ice water for the winning set of tiles..

Damon & Linda had their solemnisation at twilight. The light’s beautiful. Damon got emotional during the ceremony.. :)

Singing is his passion and being from a music school, Damon and Linda sang while they made their grand entrance.

Love how Linda’s Dad got into the celebration with the couple’s friends. Damon gamely dived into the pool after the dinner. Not long after, more friends were dragged into the pool. Guess this is what you’ll get at a wedding by the pool with plenty of booze and great friends. Cheers.

It was a pleasure to have shot the wedding of Guy & Carly at the National Museum. According to the museum, this is the 1st wedding that’s held there, cool! I love the light in the Balcony.

The bride’s half Italian and its a coincidence that there’s statue of David at the venue. He was watching over the enitre ceremony.

Its important to get a right size for the ring.

For the little ones…

I love best-man speeches.  You never know what to expect :) )

What will weddings be without our friends. (but I guess its the heat)

Really love the venue, its so Italian… minus the weather. Love the colours too.

Thank you for sharing your wedding with me on such a special day.

This is the 1st wedding for me where beer is served during tea ceremony. How cool! The bouquet is made up for beads and its made by a friend of Helen’s. How often do you see the bride skipping and dancing down the aisle? They are full of joy and laughter.

There’s also plenty of merry-making during dinner. Lots of singing, dancing and drinking. At one point, Helen sprung a surprise for Adrian by singing their song. Noticed her fans?
